Don't Use Someone's Past Against Them

Today, (14th October 2013) one of my friends, he was talking about retaliating or something like that, I can’t remember, and he asked me something like why not retaliate? And I said “you know I’m against violence, and so are you”, and he said to me “don’t tell me you’re against violence when you remember what you did to your wrist”. This was in class too!

The others didn’t hear what he was talking about, but they were asking and I just kept my mouth shut.
He’s a lovely person, and is why he’s one of my BFF’s (HAHA yea sure), but really? Fair enough, when someone self harms, that’s violence towards yourself, but NEVER EVER use that against someone! Until you actually have done it yourself or done something like I am doing, putting myself in a place where dozens of people have done or still do it to help, you just never can completely understand about self harm, what goes through the persons mind when they push that blade into themselves. I never went that far to using a blade, because I simply didn’t have one, but that’s besides the point. You just do not ever really understand what self harm is, or what it’s like being suicidal until you actually have been yourself.

I’m not saying you “never” can understand until you been through it, because when I started doing all this, I learnt about self harm and how hard addictions actually are. I never even understood at the start what bulimia, anorexia, self harm addictions, etc really even were, but I understand thoroughly now, not that I been through them, as I haven’t, but because I’ve seen through others accounts and other places just how much of a struggle it is, I’ve learnt so much about it. Just never never ever use something like self harm against someone.

Just because they done that, don’t mean they wanted to, meant to. Just never never do that to someone, using even anything in their past against someone. That’s their past!!! Self harm, that’s my past and I have faith I’ll never do it again, because I put all my trust in God, and just believe it when him and Jesus say everything will be alright.
